It seems they have been releasing better cameras each time and increase their features. Mainly it is often refered as budget camera .The 4K capabilities of the camera is really intriguing.

Design & Accessories
The SJCAM SJ6 Legend comes in a nice large box. It’s placed inside the waterproof housing so it’s pretty impossible for the camera to get damaged during shipping. A pretty nice solution. The design of the SJ6 Legend is basically the same as 99% other action cameras. It has the rectangular design that most accessories support. It has a dimension of 59×41×29mm / 2.3×1.6×1.1″ and weighs 83g / 2.9oz with the battery. So a pretty light action camera. Definitely a plus for people into aerial photography or even FPV racing.
The front of the SJCAM SJ6 Legend has the lens, some LED lights and a LCD screen. The front LCD screen displays video modes, recording time and battery. It’s actually surprisingly large and detailed. I really like it. The back of the action camera has a very nice 2″ LCD touchscreen, just like the one on GoPro Hero5 Black. You can use the touchscreen to change settings and view past footage. Because it’s touchscreen, it makes your life so much easier as you don’t have to use buttons to navigate through a small menu.
Top of the SJ6 Legend has the shutter/record button for either recording videos or taking photos. Left side has the power on and menu button. The menu button is used to access the menu settings on the touchscreen. Right side has the MiniUSB, MicroHDMI and MicroSD ports, also including the built in mic. And finally the bottom, which holds a compartment for the battery and a threaded hole for tripods. There are also plenty of LED lights on all sides which indicate different modes etc. Overall speaking it’s a very nice design. One of the best looking action cameras I have reviewed.
The build quality is also really nice. The entire body of the SJCAM SJ6 Legend has been made out of a rubberized material. It improves greatly improves grip. Even the few buttons are spot on. They feel strong and when you push it, they make that nice “click” sound as well. So they definitely aren’t weak or wobbly.
Video & Features
Since 4K videos are becoming more and more popular, SJCAM has too decided to jump on board. The SJ6 Legend has the MN34120PA sensor by Panasonic and the Novatek 96660 chipset. It is also capable of recording 4K* videos at up to 24fps. I want to add that the 4K videos aren’t actually captured in 4K if that makes sense. The action camera basically takes the 2K resolution as the base and invents additional pixels to create the 4K resolution. Doing so, it will never be as good as you’ll see on more expensive action cameras.
In day light, the SJCAM SJ6 Legend is actually really good. While trees and grass are blurry, rest of the footage is actually pretty sharp. Even the colors are pretty good.
The real problems start to show when you don’t have a good light. Don’t even bother shooting videos at night. Everything goes super blurry and the camera tends to cut frames in half if you are shooting in 60fps. It’s pretty standard for cheaper action cameras in lower light but still pretty annoying. If I wanted to record at 30fps I would had picked that. So the video quality is kind of a hit and miss. As long as you have good lightning, the videos look spot on. But if the light should turn bad while riding a bike or diving, the videos will turn bad as well.
The same thing is with photos. Colors, sharpness, the whole picture looks pretty nice. But once you open it in full size, you start to notice the lack of detail. Parts of the image are too blurry. So I would keep the SJCAM SJ6 Legend for videos.
CONCLUSION
SJCAM is really a good brand and is offering cameras at such a low price is really worth looking into. SJCAM SJ6 LEGEND is an unique camera though it has some faults like not much high quality but present a great camera for its price. It is really worth looking into and BUYING it!
-THANK YOU.
